EXPRESSION: “Good things happen when you do good.”
Good things happen when you do good, according to Wesley Autrey as reported in a New York City Newspaper. Autrey was the NY City man who did a “death defying act of bravery” when he saw a man have a seizure and fall onto the tracks in front of an incoming train in a New York subway station.
Autrey, traveling with two young daughters, jumped down to the tracks and rolled the man and himself into a drainage area between the rails as the train rumbled into the station. Cars passed over him with only a centimeter to spare. Neither suffered harm. The man was taken to the hospital and hospitalized for his medical condition. Wesley Autrey became New York City’s latest hero and has received the bronze Medallion and the title of “The Hero of Harlem” plus cash awards from Donald Trump and others, and of course, a trip to Disney World and Backstage tours for his daughters.”
